Department of Computer Science at SRM Institute of Technology (SRMIST) Vadapalani Campus and Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) jointly conducted a seminar on “IOT World Today and Agile Process”. The session was helmed by Mr. Lakshman Prakash MP, Global Head TCS-Chennai and Ms. Rajalakshmi Sivaramakrishnan , Agile Head TCS – Chennai. The interactive session witnessed participation from Computer Science Engineering students & faculty members and helped them gain strong insights into the latest practices in IoT.

Guest speakers from TCS were felicitated by Dr S Ramachandran, Deputy Director (Admin) and Prof Gomathy, VP Academics before the launch of session. First year students from the CSE department with specializations in AIML, CSBS and BDA learnt the nuances of agile methodology and how it disrupts traditional software development in the enterprise IT and cloud environment.

Mr. Lakshman Prakash MP, Global Head TCS-Chennai, enlightened the students about his inspirational career journey as HR Head in TCS Chennai. He spoke about his struggles back then and how he surpassed those barriers to become successful, and gave a motivating insight about IoT Essentials, and advancements in the field which is omnipresent all over the world. Further he explained about the latest examination process in TCS and encouraged students to apply.

Ms. Rajalakshmi, Agile Head TCS – Chennai, started with candid interactions with the students. She kept it light hearted with coffee brewing ratio and connected this concept to Agile Process, vividly spoke about the essential practices which one can implement in their day to day life and decoded the buzzwords agile and IoT.
