Sanskriti University hosts a virtual faculty Orientation Programme for “Mission Shakti” to start a campaign for girl empowerment and gender equality. Dr. Rashmi Singh, IAS, women and Child Development with govt. of NCT of Delhi and Dhruv Kant Thakur, IPS, ADG, ATS Chief was the chief guest at the orientation event. In their keynote, they address the problem faced by girls/women and try to find the solution to those problems.
While interacting with faculties Dr. Rashmi Singh, IAS Said “It is really important to understand the context of the subject to align it with our efforts, so that we can work together towards this problem. There is a need to understand the context for common understanding, alignment, perspective, vision, and goal setting so that we can work with excitement and understanding toward it. The solution is to segregate problems and create a comprehensive connection between health, education, livelihood, risk reduction, vulnerability reduction. Mission shakti is a campaign for behavioral change and as a faculty, we can contribute to this through knowledge and awareness on policies and law, role model, and case studies so that we can connect to people.”
“Gender violence is the main reason for gender inequality. It can be in any form. Our govt has started helpline numbers for reducing violence and counseling regarding the violence” added Dhruv Kant Thakur, IPS.
Chancellor Sachin Gupta said that we as a part of an educational institute trying to teach our students about girl empowerment and gender equality. Mission shakti is an initiative by the Uttar Pradesh govt. for lighting about girl child rights and their respect. We want all the gender of society to work together for this.
