It was a monumental day at RV University when leaders from two renowned universities came together to collaborate on academic and research initiatives. A comprehensive agreement of partnership was signed between RV University in Bengaluru, which is just a year old, and  Bryant University in Smithfield, Rhode Island (about 50 miles from Boston). Founded in 1863, Bryant University is at the forefront of delivering an exceptional education that anticipates the future and prepares students to be innovative leaders of character in a changing world.

RV University had recently signed three other MoUs’ for International collaborations with global universities focusing on academic and research initiatives for its students and faculty.

Dr. Madan Annavarjula, Dean of the College of Business at Bryant University, travelled from Boston to Bengaluru to formalise this partnership. The MoU was signed by Professor (Dr.) YSR Murthy, Founding Vice Chancellor of RV University in the presence of Shri Nagaraj Devatha, Hon. Jt. secretary of Rashtreeya Sikshana Samithi Trust (RSST) and Dr. Dwarika Uniyal, Pro VC, RVU.

The Provost and Chief Academic Officer of Bryant University, Dr. Rupendra Paliwal was instrumental in bringing these two universities together.

“We are very excited to enter this partnership with Bryant University which has a rich history in business education and has expanded to integrate liberal arts, health and behavioural sciences, and STEM disciplines. We are looking forward to building Joint Business Programmes across MBA, EMBA, BBA and B. Com along with global immersions for our students”, said Prof. YSR Murthy, Founding Vice Chancellor of RV University. “We are committed to bringing a world-class learning experience for our students with such collaborations”, he added.

The partnership of RV University with Bryant University will facilitate student exchange programmes for research and academic study as well as the exchange of faculty and research scholars. The two institutions will also be involved in joint research activities. The students will have an opportunity to apply for dual degrees and joint degree programmes such as an Executive MBA. The collaboration will also witness participation in seminars, symposia and various academic programmes that will be organised jointly. It will entail short-term and semester-long study abroad programmes as well.

This initiative is an important part of Bryant’s 2030 Strategic Plan, which calls for comprehensive internationalization and a renewed commitment to global awareness and understanding,” says Dr Paliwal. “This agreement between our highly respected institutions advances that goal for faculty and students through intellectual and cultural exchange.”

“The partnership with RV University will provide students with valuable opportunities in India and will help develop talent for U.S. multinational corporations as they continue to expand their presence in India. These opportunities further enhance the return on investment for a Bryant education, which is in the top 1% in the U.S., according to a recent ranking by Georgetown University Center on Education and the Workforce (CEW),” Rupendra adds.

The National Education Policy 2020 gives a big thrust to internationalisation in higher education and this partnership comes at an opportune time for RV University within just a year of operations. “It represents a great prospect for RV University students and faculty to be associated with world-class institutions and gain exposure to global benchmarks and best practices in academia and research”, said Prof. Murthy.
