NMIMS (Deemed-to-be-University) has announced its law entrance test called NMIMS Law Admission Test (NLAT 2020) for undergraduate and postgraduate programs. The remotely proctored online test aims to support law aspirants carry on education safely amidst the pandemic.

NLAT 2020 will be a 2-hour long online test with 150 multiple-choice questions. It will test aspirants on English language, current affairs, legal and logical reasoning and quantities techniques. The institute will conduct dry runs to check infrastructure readiness and data quality at students’ end before the actual exam which is scheduled on 22nd September 2020.

Speaking on the launch of NLAT 2020, Dr Alok Misra, Dean, Kirit P. Mehta School of Law, Mumbai, says “We want to provide candidates with a platform to start their legal journey with NMIMS School of Law. We care about the well-being of candidates in the time of the pandemic. The online admission test will ensure they take a step towards their education, from the safety and comfort of their homes, without the inconvenience of travel.”

Adding to this, Dr Ramesh Bhat – Officiating Vice-Chancellor, SVKM’s NMIMS and Provost & Dean, School of Business Management, says, “We at the NMIMS School of Law partner with the students in their aspiring journey of legal education, to learn the intricacies of practice of law and build skills in written and oral advocacy. We provide them with opportunities to get feedback on critical strategies, debate on issues of national importance, achieve remarkable personal growth, build character through teamwork and collaborative writing. The students gain first-hand experience in analyzing and researching law topics, developing arguments, drafting appellate and providing advice/counsel under highly qualified faculty mentors to ensure a successful law career.”

NLAT 2020 will be available to all the paid applicants of NMIMS School of Law at no additional fee. Other law aspirants across India can also register and appear for NLAT 2020.

The last date of application for new candidates is 13th September 2020.
