As the global supply chains face several iterations and disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, MICA, India’s premier management institute for Strategic Marketing and Communications, has designed a 2-week certificate program on ‘Managing Supply Chains in the Post-COVID Era’ for SCM sector professionals and future leaders. The power-packed Leadership Management Development Program (LMDP) will begin on July 3, 2021, and targets mid-and-senior-level managers handling critical functions across upstream and downstream supply chains.
The curriculum will focus on the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on global supply chains, the emergence of hyperlocal distribution, green supply chains and sustainability, future supply chain strategy implications, interventions in rural supply chains, and disruptions in supply chains. It will also lay the roadmap for firms to bounce back in case of similar crises.
The program instructors include Dr.Preeti Shroff, Dean, MICA, Dr.Subrat Sarangi, MICA, and industry experts Mr. Piyush Chowhan, Group Chief Information Officer, Lulu Group International, and Mr.Soumyakant Dwivedy, Director, Supply Chain – South East Asia, Becton Dickinson.
Speaking about the relevance of the program, Dr.Preeti Shroff, Dean, MICA said, “This program will address post-COVID supply challenges and innovations. The circular economy and value chain efficiency for business sustainability will be discussed using global and Indian case studies. This program will help participants develop concrete approaches for improving production, technology, cost, logistics, transportation, waste reduction, and recycling aspects of the supply chain.”
Said Dr. Subrat Sarangi, Assistant Professor at MICA and Co-Chair, LMDP, “As firms are setting procedures and reconfiguring their partners to raise resilience, complex decisions are of utmost priority. The program targets all decision-makers, be it the logistics manager in an FMCG company, a demand planner in a textile unit, a procurement specialist in a medical devices company, or a food company. The program’s pedagogy blends frameworks and success stories of firms as well as failures and case studies to be worked during the sessions. I am sure this shall be a learning experience for all of us and one of its kind currently being offered.”
