MICA, Ahmedabad, and Eruditus Executive Education, recently hosted a virtual valedictorian ceremony for nearly 29 participants, who completed the 9-month online PG Certification Program in Sales & Marketing Communications.
The PG Certification Program in Sales & Marketing Communications, offered through MICA’s ed-tech partner Eruditus Executive Education, equips the participants with tools and techniques to build responsive, relevant, and profitable sales marketing and communication strategies.
The first batch consisted of seasoned professionals with average work experience of 2 to 25 years choosing to upskill themselves to transform their careers. In addition, the batch had participants in the age group 21 to 70 making the industry exchange and cross-exposure a very enriching experience.
Addressing the participants virtually, Dr. Anita Basalingappa, Chairperson, Online Programmes, MICA, said, “This nine-month certificate program aims to equip the participants with an end-to-end perspective of sales and marketing communication. Through carefully designed modules, the program gave a snapshot of the entire sales and marketing communication curriculum. The final submissions were a testimony to how involved each participant was in their assignments.”
Sharing his experience, the oldest participant of the batch, Mr. Kalyan Natranjan, aged 71, Proprietor, ELCA Laboratories, said, “For a businessman, time is currency, and hence I never had luck or luxury of it. But with the sudden lockdown last year, I was forced to be at home due to my age and health. So though I was working from home, I still had plenty of time to spare.
While scouting for course, I came across MICA’s Sales and Marketing Communication program where the gravitas of faculty, the core subjective and practicality of the structure, and the merit of the institute surpasse my expectations. The 68 odd sessions were like a TV series with every episode being like a cliffhanger making you want to attempt the next.”
He further added, “If you are hungry for knowledge, age does not matter. At the age of 71, I feel like 25 years old full of goals, dreams, and ambitions.”
Dr. Preeti Shroff, Dean, and Head of MDP (Management Development Programmes), MICA, said, “While focusing on digital platforms, it is vital to remind ourselves that our ultimate goal is to reach out to human beings.” Appreciating the ongoing partnership with Eruditus Executive Education, Dr. Shroff said, “There is a great match in our values for global participation of Indian professionals in learning new-age programs and content.”
Emphasizing the importance of the program, Mr.Mohan Kannegal, CEO, India & APAC (Consumer), Eruditus Executive Education, said, “Most CEOs across the world spend more than 50% of their time on sales and marketing. This program brings the digital and the marketing element into the sales function.”
Another participant, Aisha Bhattacharya, Director of Marketing & Operations, Design Dimensions, said, “Executive education is a difficult decision to make, irrespective of the stage of life you are in. And this program gave me the confidence to be able to present and talk with more gravitas while interacting with clients.”
The ceremony concluded with a virtual distribution of certificates and a vote of thanks by Dr.Subrat Sarangi, Assistant Professor, MICA, and Mr. Mohan Kannegal, CEO – India & APAC (Consumer), Eruditus Executive Education.
