Satyug Darshan Vidyalaya, one of the best CBSE residential schools in Faridabad for the last 21 years, is launching ‘Come Out and Play’ – an initiative to reach out to children living in different parts of the city with the intent to encourage them to engage in sports and other physical activities. The inauguration of the initiative will take place on 23 October at 11 a.m. IST. The Commissioner of MCF (Municipal Corporation of Faridabad) will flag off the initiative amidst the Sports’ Day celebrations at Satyug Darshan Vidyalaya.

The school gives equal attention to both the academics as well as sports and its students have unsurprisingly excelled in both areas over the years. It recognizes that sports are an integral part of education as they inculcate interpersonal skills, tolerance, teamwork, mutual respect, team management, leadership, and several other crucial skills that determine success in life. It is the reason that Satyug Darshan Vidyalaya and Municipal Corporation of Faridabad have joined hands to launch this campaign.

The campaign will seek to fulfill its objectives in the following manner: a branded vehicle with LED screen will be visiting various parts of the city, including townships, and the physical education teachers will be engaging children living in these townships to come out of their homes and play sports in their own townships. All the activities will be organized while fully complying with COVID-19 guidelines.

Furthermore, the vehicle will also be delivering motivating messages – such as ones relating to cleanliness drive and waste segregation (the latest initiative by MCF) – from the Municipal Corporation of Faridabad. Satyug Darshan Vidyalaya is taking the initiative very seriously and leaving no stone unturned to ensure that the message reaches the children and they adopt a more active, healthy lifestyle, which is something that residential schools are well-known for. Instead of staying idle or doing unproductive activities, the students are engaged in sports and taught to live a healthy lifestyle before and after school hours.

Talking about the launch of the event, Mr. Neeraj Mohan Puri, Principal, Satyug Darshan Vidyalaya said, “The Covid-19 pandemic has greatly affected our lifestyle and has made it very sedentary. Children have been the worst victims of this change. During their growing years, the children need to go out and indulge in sports for their mental and physical development. Being confined all day inside their rooms in front of a screen could potentially inhibit their development and lead to adverse outcomes. To prevent such things from happening, we are launching this initiative.”

“We’re trying to get the message across to as many children as possible and we’re leveraging social media and other platforms with large audience bases for this reason. We also encourage parents to come forward and support us in this initiative as their children’s health is their responsibility as well. At such a time, residential schools are a great option for the parents too because mobile phones are not allowed there and there is a lot of focus on sports/activities which assist in the holistic development of the child,” he further added.
