JK Business School organized a webinar on ‘Digital marketing 2020 and beyond’ in collaboration with Ms Sumedha Chatterjee (Head Marketing British Medical Journal) for the newest additions to the JKBS family (batch of PGDM 2020-22). As they start their journey in management, the ‘Foundation Program Special e-Leadership Talk’ was organized to explore and understand the way digital marketing is shaping the industry, especially in marketing strategy, post Covid-19. The session gave a deeper insight into the Digital Marketing industry, the future of trends, and the career opportunities available in the near future as well as beyond.
While interacting with the students, Ms. Sumedha Chatterjee said “Digital marketing is an umbrella term for all the online marketing efforts, from your website to your online assets. From the last 3-4 months, no-one is going out of their homes and are spending most of their time on their mobile and laptop screens. This has posed an amazing opportunity to can reach your targeted market group with better products at different price points through digital media marketing.
Digital marketing has its own set of benefits, the marketers can analyze various metrics like eyeballs, engagement time, etc. which is not possible in print media; for example, in email marketing, you can track the email, who has opened it or not, every single medium is quantifiable. Digital marketing is a boon for entrepreneurs, they can create an email marketing structure and send emails 3 times a week to increase the conversion rate. Even different landing pages for different target markets can be created to make the outreach more personal.”
