Ever since the advent of technology in the education space, it has taken a gradual shift from mainstream education to value based and real time learning where knowledge is now not restricted to mainstream subjects. From edutainment platforms to co-curricular and innovative teaching EdTech now covers all. Some of Bharat’s EdTech start-ups disrupt the mainstream education culture with their approach.

Vidyakul: Is a vernacular learning platform, focusing on students from Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities where not all children have the access to good education or the resources for it. Founded in 2018, co-founder Tarun Saini believes in quality and affordable education and in order to help children in areas with less availability started Vidkyakul. It’s a platform where children can learn from refined teachers in their regional language. They currently have their learning studios in more than 7 states with teachers from across the country. Their business has seen a 200% rise in the last 2 months and will continue to do so with more such learning centres coming up being India’s one of its kind vernacular learning EdTech start-up. Due to a miss match in the language, most state board students are not able to reach their true potential and hence lag behind in school and online learning.

Bambinos. Live: Established in 2020, Bambinos is a multi- category digital academy for extracurricular learning powered by global educators with a vision to make children future-ready and help them to explore their true potential. The Bangalore based ed-tech start-up aims at building an ecosystem of extracurricular learning to make kids smart with a realization that each child has unique intelligence that needs to be identified and nurtured accordingly. With focus on overall development of the child it provides a variety of activities and subjects for children aged 4 to 15 years and have a highly fragmented framework of courses. Currently the company has 40+ courses across multiple genres like dance, fitness, personality development, e-sports, communication & many more. The company has its presence in various countries like Korea, Canada and Japan along with a student base of 10,000+ students in India.

SPRobotics Works: Disrupting the traditional engineering methods using AI powered learning SPRW is an online edutainment Start-up providing experiential learning to students between the age of 7 to 17 in latest technologies like Robotics, Coding, Drone, AI,VR, IoT and everything that promotes STEM education. SP Robotics is a community of students aged 6-17 years who have been creating waves across India with their innovations like Swachh Bot, which even received appreciation from the Prime Minister’s Office! They work on an AI-assisted Digital Learning Platform coupled with fun Hands-on Kits that help students learn various Technologies like Robotics, Coding, Internet of Things (IoT), Drones, Android App Building, Virtual Reality, etc. SP robotics has marked its presence across 27 cities in India with 80+ branches of makers lab, making it India’s largest Maker Labs network. SP Robotics currently imparts STEM education to more than 2 lakh students and plans to enrol 1 million more students by the end of 2021.

Skill lynch: With their Master’s certification program in Hybrid Electric Vehicle Design and Analysis, Skill-Lync is working towards imparting quality knowledge to help students attain the industry specific knowledge. Their Master’s program in Hybrid Electric Vehicle Design and Analysis program is an 8-month long program that trains students on all the essential engineering concepts and tools that are used by top OEMs to design future Electric & IC Engine Vehicles. Skill Lync is an AI based learning platform which started as a youtube channel to help engineering students on the technicalities and practical application of engineering concepts and later turned into a successful start-up company. Their first of its kind program in India is designed with a holistic curriculum comprising various important topics like ICE AND ELECTRIC POWERTRAIN, Vehicle Dynamic, Strength Calculations, Automotive Design and Automotive. Understanding the huge gap between what the college curriculum of engineers for and what the industry considers ‘employable’ Surya and founded Skill Lync in 2015.

Kutuki: is one of India’s first early learning apps that uses proprietary stories and songs-based curriculum to attract India’s youngest learners.Kutuki is a work of artists, techies and passionate educators. Kutuki was set up by Sneha Sundaram and Bharath Bevinahally in 2019. The co founders, who are also professional musicians choose the concept of story-and-rhyme-based curriculum, with the focus on language, including phonics (reading skills), foundational literacy, numeracy, life skills, STEM and general knowledge, among others making it an interactive and innovative learning platform. The app aims to transform the young minds by creating contextual, multilingual content that Indian parents and children can identify with. Kutuki is one of the top apps recognized by PM Modi as one of the winners of Atma Nirbhar Bharat App Innovation Challenge. With more than 1L+ users and 130+subscriptions by pre-schools, Kutuki is making inroads with their regional language content across Tier I, II, and III cities.
